Why We Built It

Most platforms online are built around profiles, follower counts, and curated identities. They reward performance over presence, and they're designed to keep you scrolling — not to help you actually connect with someone.

We started Talk1v1 because we thought that was backwards. The most interesting conversations happen when two people show up without an agenda. Random video chat isn't a new idea, but doing it well — safely, privately, and with real quality — is harder than it looks. Talk1v1 is our attempt to get it right.

Our Approach to Privacy

We believe your conversations are yours. Talk1v1 does not record video sessions, sell personal data, or build user profiles for advertising. We collect only the minimum technical information needed to run the service — things like session timing and general location, used exclusively for matching and abuse prevention.

Our Approach to Safety

Talk1v1 is for adults only (18+). We enforce this in our terms and use a combination of automated tools and human review to detect and remove rule-violating behavior. Users can report or skip any session instantly from inside the call.

We know no moderation system is perfect. If you see something that shouldn't be there, please use the in-session report button or contact our team directly. We take every report seriously and act on them.
